Koṇāgamana Buddha is one of the Buddhas of the present kalpa. In Buddhist tradition, Koṇāgamana is the name of the twenty-sixth Buddha, the second of the five Buddhas of the present era, and the fifth of the seven ancient Buddhas.[1] In Burma (or Myanmar) Koṇāgamana is called Koṇāgon or Koṇāgamanan. According to Burmese mythology, he was born on Wednesday,[2] because of this Koṇāgamana is placed on the Wednesday pedestal.
